NFL Rumors: DE Ray Edwards Could Be An Eagle

The one good thing about the lockout ending so close to the start of the season is that there isn't a whole lot of time for stupid rumors to sit and marinate. Rumors nowadays should be taken with a slightly bigger grain of salt. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution is reporting that former Vikings' defensive end Ray Edwards is "expected to land in Philadelphia."

In 14 games last season, the 6-foot-5 Edwards recorded eight sacks and 28 solo tackles.

The Eagles interest in Edwards apparently stems from concerns over Brandon Graham's injury.

Apparently, the Falcons have cooled and will channel their resources to prevent their own players from departing via free agency. Per Ledbetter, Edwards is likely ticketed for the Philadelphia Eagles. That would make sense when you consider Brandon Graham, the club’s first-round draft pick a year ago, is in doubt for this season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee.
