Kevin Kolb Trade Rumors: Kolb, Cardinals Negotiating Contract Extension

Adam Caplan, NFL reporter for Fox Sports and 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia is reporting that "substantial progress" has been in the last few hours between the Eagles and Cardinals on the trade for Kevin Kolb and he's expects the deal to be finalized today.

Caplan's report comes on the heels of Howard Eskin saying that Kolb's agent is currently in negotiations with the Cardinals on a long term contract extension for the quarterback. If things are at that point, it is probably safe to say that compensation between the Eagles and Cardinals is pretty much done.

So today looks to be the one where everything really kicks into gear for the Eagles. Training camp is officially underway, Jason Babin was the first major signing this morning and it appears as if Kevin Kolb for Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick will be the second major move of the day. Let's now hope a DeSean Jackson contract isn't far behind.
