Eagles Training Camp: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Talks Eagles Secondary

On Thursday, the Eagles traded Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals for pro bowl CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second round pick. DRC showed up to Eagles game yesterday and finally got a chance to talk with the media today. No surprise, one of the firs questions he was asked was about the now crowded secondary and how he feels about playing with Asante Samuel and Nnamdi Asomugha.

“I got that much more happy." DRC said, "Bringing in a guy like that, now I can learn from both him and [CB] Asante [Samuel]. I mean you can’t ask for anything better as far as learning.”

Just like everyone, he’s pretty impressed with the talent currently in the Eagles secondary.

“You can’t describe it with the guys they put in place. It’s kind of hard to describe, but what you expect is for everyone to go out and do what they’ve been doing. Just play ball. You’ve got the big plays in Asante jumping stuff, and you’ve got the shutdown in Nnamdi. Really, it’s just for us to go out and play ball.”

He also said he’s not particularly concerned about where he’s playing in relation to those two, “I just worry about playing. I know what I have in both of those guys and what they bring to the table. At the same time I know what I can do. I’m just going to go out there and compete.”

In fact, he’d even be the nickel corner if that’s what the team wanted.

“That’d be alright with me, as long as I can get on the field and compete,” he said.
