Philadelphia Eagles Sign Five To Practice Squad, Add Former Colts G

The Eagles have begun signing players to their practice squad and all the names will be very familiar. All five players they’ve added to this point were with the team in preseason. WR Chad Hall, G Dallas Reynolds, FB Stanley Havili, LB Greg Lloyd, and DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim. The latter three were all draft picks of the team.

The team also made a cut today, DT Cedric Thornton, who is likely to end up on the practice squad if he doesn’t get claimed. Just yesterday we wrote about what a surprise it was that Thornton made the team, but his roster spot wasn’t safe until they kicked off with the Rams this weekend.. In the end, his spot was safe for less than 24 hours.

Replacing him on the roster will be former Colts G Kyle DeVan, who the Eagles claimed off waivers. DeVan, 26, has started 21 regular season games for the Colts from 2009-2010 and even started in the Super Bowl. He’s played both RG and LG and worked under Howard Mudd in 2009, which is probably the main reason he’s here.
