The 2012 Senior Bowl is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, marking the 63rd straight year the all-star exhibition has been held, and the 62nd straight year it will be played in Mobile, Alabama.
Each season, a crop of the top collegiate seniors is selected to compete and divided into two separate teams. The teams compete for a week in practices that are coached by NFL coaching staffs and attended by hundreds of NFL talent evaluators, culminating in the Saturday game.
Through the years, some of the NFL's greats have participated in the Senior Bowl, resulting in a tradition that has lasted longer than the Super Bowl. The Senior Bowl began a Hall of Fame in 1988, and players and coaches inducted include Paul "Bear" Bryant, Tom Landry, Joe Greene, Walter Payton, Bo Jackson and Dan Marino.
The game will kick of Saturday at 3 p.m. from Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
