Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick declined to comment on whether he owns a dog during media availability on Wednesday.
Last week, Vick posted a picture on his twitter page of himself and his daughter working (Vick was viewing game film, while his daughter was completing homework). In addition to the two Vicks, a box of Milk Bone dog treats was also visible in the frame. The picture was quickly deleted after its original posting and was reposted with the box of treats cropped out of the frame.
Considering Vick's past involvement in a dog fighting ring, the situation has become somewhat controversial. Vick wanted to avoid the discssion completely by focusing on football. The Delco Times reports that Vick said:
"I'm here to strictly talk about football. What goes on in my personal life is not to be talked about. What's most important now is the Philadelphia Eagles and getting a win this Sunday."
Vick has completed his probation and is permitted to own a dog if he so chooses. Vick had previously said he and his family hoped to get a dog one day.
"I would love to get another dog in the future. I think it would be a big step for me in the rehabilitation process," Michael Vick said. "I miss having a dog right now. I wish I could. My daughters miss having one, and that's the hardest thing: Telling them that we can't have one because of my actions."
