NFL Injury Report: DeSean Jackson injures rib in Monday Night loss

Eagles' star wide receiver injured in Monday night's 30-22 loss to the Panthers.

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The Philadelphia Eagles' Monday night loss, 30-22, to the Carolina Panthers featured wide receiver DeSean Jackson leaving the game in the first quarter with a rib cartilage injury.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Zach Berman, Jackson had X-rays in the locker room which came back negative. Jackson is expected to have an MRI and CT scans on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Eagles were without two other offensive stars Monday night, as quarterback Michael Vick and running back LeSean McCoy missed the contest with concussions. Its still unclear whether or not both will be cleared for Sunday's prime-time match up with the Dallas Cowboys.

In Vick's absence backup quarterback Nick Foles went 16-for-21 passing for 119 yards, no touchdown and no interceptions. Foles is now 0-2 as the Eagles' starting quarterback.

Because of the Monday Night showdown, the Eagles (3-8) will have one less day to get healthy for Sunday's game. Philadelphia is currently on a seven-game losing streak.
