It just keeps getting worse for the Philadelphia Eagles. A Monday night home game against the then 2-8 Carolina Panthers seemed like a great chance to get back on the smiling side of the scoreboard, but instead it just turned into another nightmare in a season that's become one long bad dream. The Panthers downed the Eagles 30-22 and dropped Philly to 3-8 on the season.
Nothing is going well for the Eagles and it shows in the latest SB Nation Power Rankings, which has Philly 31st. Yep, the Eagles are now the second-worst team in the NFL. At least they aren't the Kansas City Chiefs - but that's not saying much.
31 Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 26, 3-8): Still a train wreck.
Concise. And true.
Things are much better in Texas, where the Houston Texans remained atop the rankings after beating the Detroit Lions to improve to 10-1 on the season. The Atlanta Falcons checked in behind them, while the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots rounded out the top five.
