DeSean Jackson "Has A Bright Future" Says Eagles GM Howie Roseman

Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman spoke with the media today and the #1 topic was the future of free agent to be DeSean Jackson. While Roseman didn't directly speak to Jackson's contract situation, he certainly sounded like a guy that wanted WR back.

"We feel very fortunate to have him on our team," said Roseman. "He's a player that we drafted, we've grown (with), and we think he's got a great future ahead."

"We feel fortunate to have a player of DeSean Jackson’s magnitude on our football team and I think the future is bright for DeSean Jackson."

When asked whether the team would be reluctant to use the franchise tag on Jackson if they can't get a deal done, Roseman said that the plan was to keep their own...

"You want to always keep your really good players under contract. That's the way it's always been," . "It's been draft and lets extend them and re-sign them. It just doesn't always happen that that's how it works."

Roseman said that their focus this year was to "draft and re-sign our own."
