Brandon Pierce was looking to make a great impression at the NFL Scouting Combine on Sunday in Indianapolis. It ended with mixed results.
While Pierce did well at certain stations including the vertical and broad jumps, he struggled with his pass catching ability.
According to NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock in a Philly.com piece, his day may have hurt his stock.
"I didn't think he had a great day today, and I like him, and he's a Philly guy so I want to like him," Mayock said. "He's a big back with good feet. I think he struggled a little bit catching the ball today."
The Temple product ran a nice time of 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, which tied for seventh among running backs.
Pierce was one of the most productive players in college football last year. The standout scored 27 touchdowns to accompany 1,481 yards. More impressive, he averaged 5.4 yards per carry.
Mayock projects that Pierce will be a fourth round selection.
