2012 NFL Combine Results: Penn State's D'Anton Lynn, Chaz Powell Post Subpar 40-Yard Dash Times

D'Anton Lynn and Chaz Powell, both defensive back prospects for the Penn State football program, have each completed the 40-yard dash at the 2012 NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Lynn posted unofficial times of 4.72 seconds and 4.78, while Powell finished with two exact times of 4.50. Official times are usually come-in a bit slower than the unofficial ones.

Lynn, measured at 6-foot-0, 206 pounds at the Combine, is a projected seventh rounder by NFLDraftScout.com and his results will not help his draft stock. However, NFL Network's Mike Mayock thinks Lynn plays faster than that on gamedays.

"I think he plays faster than his times," said Mayock, the network's NFL Draft expert after Lynn's first attempt. "He's not a 4.7-guy on Saturday or Sunday."

Meanwhile, Powell (6-foot-0, 203 pounds), who's predicted to not get drafted by NFLDraftScout.com, could be very solid special-teamer for some NFL franchise. Powell ran back two kicks for touchdowns during the Nittany Lions 2011-12 season.

In the bench press, Lynn and Powell both did 17 reps of 250-pounds, which didn't crack the top performers list, however, also isn't a bad number for defensive backs.

Both players now be put through workout drills to show how their skills apply to game-like situations.
