In the latest SB Nation mock draft released Monday morning, the Philadelphia Eagles are bulking up on defense.
With the 15th overall pick, the Eagles are slated to take inside linebacker Luke Kuechly. It's been widely discussed that Philadelphia desperately needs some help with its linebacking core. Kuechly would provide instant help to a team with very high expectations for the near future.
Kuechly was an absolute force of nature for Boston College. In 2011, he amassed an eye-popping 191 tackles which easily led the nation.
He also took home quite a bit of hardware, winning the Butkus Award (best college linebacker), Lombardi Award (best defensive lineman or linebacker), Bronko Nagurski Award (best college defensive player) and the Lott IMPACT award (defensive impact player of the year).
Kuechly would make a nice fit as the defense's quarterback for the 4-3 scheme Juan Castillo is running. If he's still on the board by the time Andy Reid and co. select, Kuechly would make for a very nice pick.
