DeSean Jackson "Excited" About Franchise Tag

It was a hot topic of conversation whether or not DeSean Jackson would be upset with a franchise tag designation. It turns out he's more than fine with it.

Jackson spoke with Tim McManus shortly after being franchised, and told him he's very happy with the situation. Jackson of course wants a long term deal to provide security.

The Eagles and Jackson have been discussing contracts since last summer, when Jackson voiced his displeasure with the contract he was playing on. The ex-Golden Bear had said earlier this offseason that he wouldn't have any issues with being tagged, but many still wanted to see it before they believed it.

Now that Jackson is in the fold, he and the Philadelphia front office can get down to business and try to iron out a multi-year deal. With the Eagles ready to win now, it seems obvious that both sides would stand to gain from that type of agreement.

With Jackson (somewhat) taken care of, the Eagles can turn their attention elsewhere once free agency starts on March 13th.
