Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Trent Cole Could Be Close To New Deal

CSNPhilly’s Derrick Gunn is reporting that the Eagles may be close to a new deal with DE Trent Cole. The Pro Bowl DE is currently signed through next season.

The move would certainly be in line with the Eagles apparent philosophy of taking care of their own this offseason. Todd Herremans was the first to re-up and at his press conference today, he said that this is a priority for Eagles GM Howie Roseman.

"The Eagles have been known for a while as a team that doesn’t take care of their draft picks and pays everyone else’s as picks and players," said Herremans. "I think they’re trying to change that stigma that they have. Howie’s very concentrated on taking care of their own and wanting players to be Eagles their entire career."

DeSean Jackson & LeSean McCoy are both obvious candidates to get new deals from the Eagles this offseason as well. Among the free agents, the team will reportedly look to bring back LG Evan Mathis and DT Derek Landri.

ESPN is reporting this as well.
