NFL Free Agency 2012: David Garrard Interested In Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly on the wish list of free agent quarterback David Garrard.

Tim McManus of 97.5 The Fanatic reports that Garrard has interest in joining the Eagles, but the size of his contract could turn Philadelphia away.

Garrard, 34, sat out the 2011 season to recover from a herniated disk. Prior to that he played nine seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, accumulating 16,003 passing yards, 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions on 61.6 percent passing.

During the 2010 season, Garrard earned career highs in completion percentage (64.5) and touchdown passes (23) despite missing two games. The dual-threat also ran for a career-high five scores in 2010, giving him 17 career rushing touchdowns.

Philadelphia already signed Trent Edwards to compete for the backup position, and Mike Kafka returns as another option behind starter Michael Vick.
