NFL Free Agency 2012: Philadelphia Eagles Rumored As Destination For Marion Barber, According To Report

If Marion Barber is released by the Chicago Bears, which is viewed almost as an inevitability, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to show interest.

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Eagles and St. Louis Rams are possible destinations for Barber if he is indeed released by the Bears. It's been assumed all along that Barber, who is set to make almost $2 million next season, will be let go by the Bears at some point, and the team's free agency signing of Michael Bush only seems like another force pushing Barber out the door.

Barber appeared in 11 games last season, mostly as Matt Forte's backup, rushing for 422 yards with six touchdowns on 3.7 yards per carry. The 28-year old has played seven seasons, the first six with the Dallas Cowboys.
