Every year, the NFL awards compensatory draft picks to teams who lost more and or better free agents than they acquired in the previous season. Those picks were announced today and you can see the full list here.
↵One team you will not see on the list is your Philadelphia Eagles. I'm sure you all remember last season how the Eagles lost really only Stewart Bradley of note to free agency and signed well... everyone. Nnamdi Asomugha, Cullen Jenkins, Jason Babin, Vince Young, Ronnie Brown etc. So clearly, they were not going to be getting any comp picks for the spending spree.
↵It's not likely at this point they'll get any next year either. While the Eagles have signed no free agents of note, they've also not really lost anyone either. WR Steve Smith signed with the Rams today and under the formula the NFL uses to value comp picks, if he were to have a good year and either play a lot of snaps and/or make the pro bowl, the Eagles would get a comp pick for him. However, if he does there what he did here, they'll be lucky to get a 7th rounder at best.
↵It is worth noting that the Oakland Raiders received the highest comp pick, a 3rd rounder, for losing Nnamdi Asomugha.
