According to Mike Klis of The Denver Post, the Broncos are interested in acquiring Eagles veteran cornerback, Asante Samuel.
However, the Broncos no longer believe they can strike a deal, even though trade talks advanced to the stage where the team presented two proposals - one for a late-round draft pick and the other involving a player.
The 31 year old cornerback has been subject of trade rumors since the Eagles signed Nnamdi Asomugha in free agency 2011. He has two years left on his contract and is owed 21.5 million dollars.
Even at his advanced age, Samuel is still a quality cornerback. He allowed only two touchdowns last season, intercepted three passed and deflected six others. Quarterbacks had a cumulative QB rating of 52.4 against him in 2011.
