Eagles Offseason 2012: Philadelphia Close To Dealing Asante Samuel To The Atlanta Falcons

As everyone knows who follows the Philadelphia Eagles, Asante Samuel is on the trading block. He may be off of it very soon.

According to Adam Schefter, Samuel is almost a member of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Eagles would be trading the 31-year-old corner for a late round draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. This move would make a lot of sense for a team already set with Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the outside for years to come.

Trading Samuel would open up some cap space for the team to make some other moves all while adding a selection for Andy Reid to play with.

The ex-Patriot has been a good player for the most part during his time in Philadelphia but he's also far from expendable at this point in his career.

Samuel has been very much a feast or famine type, accumulating 23 interceptions in his four years wearing green.
