Asante Samuel and the Atlanta Falcons have reportedly agreed to a restructured contract, the latest sign that the Philadelphia Eagles cornerback will soon be dealt to the Peach State.
The NFL Network's Albert Breer first reported Samuel's restructured deal, which reportedly will pay the cornerback $18.5 million over the next three seasons. Samuel was slated to earn $21.5 million with the Eagles the next two years, so the deal represents a significant pay cut, but it's unlikely he would have seen all of that money anyway.
Though it's currently unclear exactly what the Falcons will provide the Eagles in return for Samuel, Adam Schefter -- the first to report that the trade was close -- reports that Philadelphia will likely receive a late-round NFL Draft pick.
