Fletcher Cox Signing: Philadelphia Eagles Sign 1st-Round Draft Choice

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed their first-round draft choice defensive tackle Fletcher Cox to a four-year deal, the team announced on Monday. With the signing of Cox, the Eagles have signed all nine of their 2012 NFL Draft picks.

Cox, taken with the 12th pick of the first round, is the third-highest draft pick this season to be under contract. Rookies still have 34 days before they are expected to report at training camp.

The Eagles traded up to be able to select Cox (6-4, 298) whom they think could make immediate contributions on defense. Cox made 56 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and five sacks for Mississippi State as a junior and was named first-team All-SEC in 2011. Cox was also a contributor on special teams, blocking five kicks in 36 games.
