The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Monday that they have claimed defensive end Monte Taylor off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.
Taylor (6-5, 266) was signed by the Seahawks as a rookie free agent out of the University of Cincinnati. In 2011, Taylor made four sacks, 17 tackles (four tackles for loss) and forced three fumbles for the Bearcats. Taylor made 45 tackles, blocked eight kicks and made five interceptions El Camino Community College (Torrance, CA) before transferring to Cincinnati.
With the pickup of Taylor, the Eagles now have five former Bearcats on their 90-man roster, which is the most of any college. The Eagles also have tight end Brent Celek, defensive end Trent Cole, wide receiver Mardy Gilyard and center Jason Kelce on the roster from the University of Cincinnati.
