2012 NFL Supplemental Draft: WR Josh Gordon Selected By Cleveland Browns In Round 2

The Cleveland Browns selected Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon in the second round of the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft on Thursday, ending the Philadelphia Eagles' chances of potentially acquiring the intriguing wideout.

The Eagles had scouted Gordon's workout on Tuesday, when he ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash in front of representatives for 21 teams. The time was considered disappointing for the explosive, 6-foot-3, 225-pounder, and it was rumored later that he might have had a quad issue that kept him from reaching top speed.

Gordon, formerly of Baylor, was dismissed from the football team there before the 2011 season. He said this week that the dismissal was due to a failed marijuana test.

As a sophomore at Baylor in 2010, Gordon caught 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns. He was considered the top talent in the Supplemental Draft.
