Michael Vick Unfazed By "Dynasty" Reaction

Michael Vick woke a pretty bored NFL media out of its summer slumber last week with what was on its face a pretty benign quote.

"When I look at our football team and what we have on paper, I think about when I was growing up and the great San Francisco 49er teams, the great Green Bay Packer teams, and the great Dallas Cowboy teams, how they just positioned themselves to compete and be one of the best teams out there. I think we have a chance to be that. I think we have a chance to develop a dynasty."

That quote was, of course, just boiled to to the word "dynasty" and the media ran with it ala Vince Young's also completely out of context "Dream Team" comment last season.

Arriving at Lehigh University for Eagles training camp today, Vick said he was surprised to see so much made out of so little, but he wasn't going to apologize or back down.

"That's just me speaking in confidence," Vick told Bleeding Green Nation's Eliot Schorr-Parks. "It's just how I feel. I feel you have to speak it into existence. Aim for the stars, and even if you miss you'll be amongst them. That's gotta be out mindset. But it all starts on the practice field."
