Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp 2012: AFL's Tiger Jones Invited To Camp

The Philadelphia Eagles have invited wide receiver Tiger Jones of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul to training camp, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Jones, a 5-foot-11, 195-pounder, was the 2011 AFL receiver of the year with Dallas. He currently tops the AFL with 2,010 receiving yards and is third in the league with 47 touchdowns, but will sit out the remainder of the season to avoid injury.

The Soul are set to begin the playoffs the same weak that Eagles training camp begins, but Jones' coach is happy for the 30-year old, former Louisville wideout.

"There's no question that taking a person of his [caliber] is going to create a vacuum," said Soul coach Doug Plank, who played eight seasons for the Chicago Bears. "But, at the same time, you have to look at the bigger picture. If, through this season, we were able to put one or two players into the National Football League, then it's a win for the AFL."
