SB Nation's Week 3 NFL Power Rankings were released Tuesday, and the Philadelphia Eagles are the fifth-best team according to NFL Editor Joel Thorman. The Eagles (2-0) vaulted eight spots after Sunday's gritty 24-23 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, last week's No. 1 team. Philadelphia is ranked behind the top-ranked San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons.
Here's what Thorman had to say about the Eagles:
5. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 13, 2-0): Two one-point wins is a good reminder that point differential doesn't matter in the NFL. The schedule becomes a very real issue soon: at Arizona, New York Giants, at Pittsburgh, Detroit, Atlanta at New Orleans.
SB Nation's rankings of the Eagles is the same as NFL.com's which also has them ranked fifth. Meanwhile, both Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio and FOX Sports' Brian Billick each have Philadelphia ranked No. 4. The worst ranking was given by ESPN.com which had the Eagles ranked seventh.
