Philadelphia Flyers Crush New York Islanders 6-1

Jeff Carter and Chris Pronger both scored two goals as the Philadelphia Flyers crushed the New York Islanders 6-1. Rookie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was superb yet again making 31 saves and giving up just one goal, which came on a second period penalty shot when the Flyers were already up four goals. The Flyers would restore their four goal lead nearly 30 seconds after the penalty shot with Chris Pronger’s second.

Kimmo Timmonen also had a nice night with three points coming from a goal two assists. Dan Carcillo fought Zenon Konopka twice and earned himself 22 penalty minutes tonight.

This marks the Islanders eleventh straight loss in Philadelphia. They haven’t won here since 2007 and have won just one of their sixteen contests with the Flyers. That’s complete and total ownership… The Flyers have now won three straight and are off until Monday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes. On Thursday, the rival New York Rangers come to town.
