In their weekly, "who's hot who's not" column, NHL.com singled out the Flyers Danny Briere as the hottest player in hockey. Briere was riding a career best five game goal scoring streak into Sunday's game at the New York Rangers. In fact, his 24 goals so far this season are just one shy of his total goal output from all of last year.... and we're not even at the all star break. Of course, Briere's stellar first half of the season was not enough to get him in the NHL all star game...
↵Over the past six games, Briere's line, which includeds Ville Leino and Scott Hartnell, have combined for 17 goals and 16 assists. Briere didn't score on Sunday, but Leino had a goal and an assist.
↵The Briere-Leino-Hartnell line has been so potent, that Broad Street Hockey has started their own NCAA tourney style contest to give it a name. My favorite is "The Tastycake Line." Go vote and help it out!
