The Flyers will welcome back Chris Pronger tonight against the Ottawa Senators after the defenseman missed the past thirteen games with a foot injury. Pronger told Tim Panaccio that he’s been going a bit crazy having to sit out.
“I don’t think anyone likes watching when they can be out there playing and having fun and going through all the battles and wars with your teammates,” Pronger said. “That’s what players who retire or are forced out of the game miss the most. The camaraderie in the room and on the ice and on the bench.”
The Flyers haven’t exactly missed Pronger too much. The Flyers have a three point lead atop the Eastern Conference and are tied for the best record in the NHL. The team is 8-2 over it’s last 10 games.
The fact that the Flyers managed to maintain the best record in hockey without one of the NHL’s best defenseman should be something the rest of the NHL finds very scary.
