Flyers Vs. Islanders: Philadelphia Looks To Extend Dominance Of New York

The Flyers have beaten the Islanders in 21 of their last 22 meetings.

The Philadelphia Flyers look to extend their recent dominance of the New York Islanders Wednesday night, when the team's meet at New York's Nassau Coliseum (7 p.m., CSN-PH).

The Flyers have beaten the Islanders 21 of the last 22 times the teams have faced off, including a series sweep of six meetings last season.

Neither team enters the game with momentum. Philadelphia has lost two straight, including a 4-2 decision to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. The Islanders have dropped two consecutive shutouts, running the team's scoreless streak to 141:45.

Flyers forward Jaromir Jagr, who has missed the last two games while nursing a lower-body injury, practiced on Tuesday and is hopeful to return against New York.

"Today we had some game drills and it didn't bother me," Jagr told reporters. "I didn't go 100 percent. I don't want to do anything stupid and not be able to skate (Wednesday). And I have an extra 1.5 days to heal it. After four or five days it moves kind of quick."
