The Philadelphia Flyers schedule resumes this weekend with one game, a highly-anticipated home bout against the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon (1 p.m., NHLN-US, CSN-PH).
Holders of a seven-game winning streak, the Eastern Conference-leading Flyers will look to withstand the also-surging Bruins, who currently trail the Flyers by two points and occupy the second slot in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Flyers announced Thursday the loss of captain Chris Pronger to a concussion for the remainder of the season, and leading scorer Claude Giroux is out indefinitely with a concussion of his own.
Wayne Simmonds has scored in four straight games for the Flyers and Scott Hartnell has tallied goals in six of the last seven affairs. After beating the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 on Thursday night, the Flyers have now notched 30 goals during their winning streak for an average of 4.28 goals per game.
