Winter Classic 2012 Alumni Game: A Warm Weather Affair

If you never thought you would get another chance to see Eric Lindros meet Mark Messier and Brian Leetch, the feeling was natural. But you'll get another chance this afternoon. They just might be skating in slush by then.

The 2012 Winter Classic Alumni Game pits famous players of yesteryear against each other, a handful of Philadelphia Flyers legends against their counterparts from the New York Rangers. The game time has already been pushed back due to warm weather in the region, and temperatures for Saturday afternoon threaten to burst into the 50s, with a chance of rain showers according to Weather.com.

Participating in the alumni game for the Flyers will be Jeremy Roenick, Eric Lindros, John LeClair and Mark Howe, among others, and the crew will be coached by Pat Quinn. The Rangers will be coached by Mike Keenan, who led the organization to its first championship in more than 54 years in 1993-94. Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Adam Graves, Ron Duguay, Dave Maloney and Mike Gartner are all expected to skate in the game.

Game Date/Time: Saturday, Dec. 31, 3 p.m. ET

Location: Citizen's Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pa.

TV: Versus (National), CBC (Canada), CSN Philadelphia (Philadelphia)
