Flyers Get Off The Snide With 4-1 Win Over Edmonton

The Flyers broke their season long 4 game losing streak with an emphatic 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers at the Wells Fargo Center. Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves and Jeff Carter scored twice as the Flyers beat the Oilers for the first time in 10 years. Edmonton had been riding a 3 game winning streak, while the Flyers were coming off a 7-0 embarrassment at the hands of the New York Rangers.

Danny Briere also got off the snide as he broke and 8 game goalless streak to open the scoring after Matt Carle fed him on a breakaway. Briere would play a part in Jeff Carter's goal later in the period after he pushed a pass from Claude Giroux in front of the net for Carter to tap in.

Carter would score the game's third goal off a rebound from a James Van Reimsdyk shot. Edmonton would make the game 3-1 about a minute later, but Sergei Bobrovsky would shut the door with some impressive play in the 3rd period. Blair Betts would add an empty netter to cap the scoring.

Next up for the Flyers is a trip to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs this Thursday.
