Whoa. That's all I have to say about today's events. With all of the Sixers rumors being thrown about, it almost felt good to get some valid news. When the smoke cleared, the Flyers came away with three players: Brayden Schenn (center), Wayne Simmonds (left wing), and Jakub Voracek (right wing).
Paul Holmgren wanted to get bigger on the wing and he got what he wanted. Between both Voracek and Simmonds, the average height is 6-foot-2.
Here is a statistical breakdown of each of these players' NHL seasons:

Voracek is a very promising prospect with a huge upside. His goal numbers aren't great, but you have to remember that this kid started playing pro hockey at 19. That's pretty impressive. He's only going to get better with Laviolette's coaching.

Talk about a fresh pup. The fact that Schenn has only played nine NHL games and Paul Holmgren is counting on him to step up worries me. However, the word among beat writers and scouts is that Schenn is a good catch with--just like Voracek--a ton of upside.

Simmonds is a fan favorite in Los Angeles and should be the same in Philadelphia. He's a tough, physical winger. If the Boston Bruins taught the Flyers anything in the playoffs, it's that toughness and size wins championships.
