Broad Street Hockey found an interesting report out of Russia that claims Ilya Bryzgalov is not interested in playing in his homeland as was previously reported. According to the report, the Flyers are among the teams he is interested in.
Sport-Express reports: Bryzgalov NOT talking to SKA at this moment, is looking at Philly, TBL and Washington. No further details.
A very rough translation of the Russian news site from which the report comes lists the Flyers as “favorites” for Bryzgalov’s services, along with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals.
This is not the first time that it’s been indicated that Bryzgalov would be interested in playing in Philadelphia. CSNPhilly’s Tim Pannacio cited a source last month who said that the goalie would “relish” the idea of being a Flyer and that the team had previously had discussions with the Coyotes about him in the past.
We’ll continue to follow the Flyers offseason pursuit of a goalie as it unfolds…
