James van Riemsdyk Out Indefinitely With Concussion

Philadelphia Flyers winger James van Riemsdyk will miss tonight's game against the Nashville Predators with a concussion, Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren announced.

According to the Flyers, van Riemsdyk was hit in the head in each of the last two games and is "not feeling like himself." This is obviously bad news for van Riemsdyk, as he becomes the fourth major piece of the Flyers - joining Chris Pronger, Brayden Schenn and Claude Giroux - to miss time this year with a concussion.

That's not even including Ian Laperriere, who has missed the last year and a half with severe post-concussion syndrome, or Sean Couturier, who missed time after taking a slapshot to the back of the head.

The Flyers should replace van Riemsdyk in the lineup with Zac Rinaldo, while this could mean more playing time for Sean Couturier or Matt Read.
