2012 NHL All-Star Draft: Five Players Available For Picking

The NHL All Star weekend kicks off Thursday night with the second annual Fantasy Player Draft, to be conducted by Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and Senators captain Daniel Alfreddson. The two were voted by the fans and members of the NHL's league office to represent the two teams, and will alternate picking from a pool of 38 available players.

The pool of 38 veteran players will be supplemented by 12 rookies (to be split into two groups of six to round out each roster), and five Flyers will trek up north to play in the game. C Claude Giroux was rewarded for his sensational first half of the season with an All Star nod, and he'll be joined by LW Scott Hartnell and D Kimmo Timonen. C Sean Couturier and RW Matt Read -- the Flyers dynamic pair of rookies -- were named to All Star rookie group.

The game will be played on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, and can be seen in the US on NBC Sports.
