Three Flyers will represent Philadelphia in the 59th NHL All Star Game, to be held in Ottawa on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., and to be seen on NBC Sports.
The game will feature a match-up of teams decided during Thursday night's Fantasy Player Draft. Zdeno Chara of the Bruins and Daniel Alfredsson of the Senators were appointed captains for the event, and they hand picked the members of their respective teams.
Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell will player for Team Alfreddson, while Kimmo Timonen will join Team Chara. Giroux is second in the NHL with 55 points, trailing only Evgeni Malkin of the Penguins. Hartnell leads the Flyers with 25 goals, already eclipsing his season total from a year ago. In the absence of Chris Pronger, Timonen has led the Flyers' defense, and has assisted on 29 goals already this season.
The Flyers currently stand at fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings, and trail only the New York Rangers in the Atlantic Division.
