2012 NHL All-Star Game, Final Score: Team Chara Defeats Team Alfredsson, 12-9

Team Chara defeated Team Alfredsson 12-9 on Sunday in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

The Philadelphia Flyers were represented by Claude Giroux (Team Alfredsson), Scott Hartnell (Team Alfredsson) and Kimmo Timonen (Team Chara).

Team Chara started the game off with three consecutive goals before Team Alfredsson fought back to tie the score at three before the end of the first period. Hartnell assisted on the second goal by Team Alfredsson.

Team Chara scored the first two goals of the second period before giving up three consecutive goals to Team Alfredsson. Team Chara tied the score at six with a goal a couple of minutes before the intermission.

Team Chara took the lead again in the third period but Team Alfredsson scored to make the score level again. Team Chara took the lead, 8-7, at the 7:45 mark before Hartnell assisted on Claude Giroux's goal for Team Chara to tie the game at 8 two minutes later. Team Chara broke the game open with three consecutive goals to make it 11-8. Team Chara added one more to seal the victory after Team Alfredsson scored their ninth goal.

Marian Gaborik from the New York Rangers, who scored a hat trick, was named the game's MVP.
