Flyers Vs. Senators: Flyers Win 3-2

The Philadelphia Flyers ended the Ottawa Senators four game winning streak today, defeating them by a final score of 3-2. The Flyers have now won two consecutive games, and improve to 4-5 in their past nine, following their seven game winning streak in early December.

The story of the game was Flyers center Danny Briere who scored a hat trick today, and accounted for all of the Flyers' goals, including the game winner in overtime. With 5.3 seconds remaining Briere scored his third goal of the game giving the Flyers the overtime victory.

The total shots tally was 39 for the Flyers and 37 for the Senators. Ottawa had more penalty minutes and takeaways, while Philadelphia held the advantage in hits giveaways and faceoffs won.

With the win the Flyers take a four point lead over the Senators in the Eastern Conference standings.
