The Flyers have won just once in their past six games, and perhaps a game against the last place Sabres is exactly what they need to turn their fortunes around. Philadelphia has beaten Buffalo in four straight contests, including both times the two teams have squared off this season.
Buffalo has underachieved throughout the 2011-2012 season, sitting in the basement of the Northeast Division after many expected them to compete in the Eastern Conference. A big part of Buffalo's struggles stem front its inability to score; the Sabres rank 26th in the NHL with just 2.4 goals per game.
The Flyers find themselves 10 points back of the Atlantic Division-leading Rangers and fourth overall in the Eastern Conference; however, just a point separates Philly from seventh-place Ottawa.
The game will be broadcast in Philadelphia on Comcast, and the puck drops at 7:00 p.m. EST.
