Flyers Vs. Predators Final Score: Wayne Simmonds Scores Twice In 4-1 Win

Wayne Simmonds scored in the first and third period to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. Nasvhille had won five straight, and 13 of their last 15 games before facing the Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center.

Simmonds' tallies were his 14th and 15th on the season, moving him ahead of Danny Briere for fourth-most on the team. Matt Read scored an unassisted goal in the second period for his 15th on the year, and Claude Giroux added an empty-netter with just over a minute left in the game.

Ilya Bryzgalov allowed six goals in a loss to the Boston Bruins in his last start, but had an excellent game in net on Thursday. He turned back 26 of 27 shots faced, and shut out the Predators and their 2nd-ranked powerplay on all four of their extra-man opportunities. Ryan Suter did not find the net for the Nashville until the 8:37 mark of the third period.
