Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Matt Read's first-ever shootout goal gave the Philadelphia Flyers a 5-4 win over the Calgary Flames.
In the fifth round, after Curtis Glencross' shot went off the left arm of Ilya Bryzgalov, Read buried a wrister into the right corner past Miikka Kiprusoff for the win.
Scott Hartnell had a pair of goals to give him 30 for the season, while Braydon Coburn and Jakub Voracek each scored for the Flyers, who were coming off a 2-0 loss in Edmonton on Thursday. Nicklas Grossman added a pair of assists, the first two-point game of his career. Bryzgalov made 17 stops for the win.
Alex Tanguay had a goal and an assist and Mark Giordano, Tom Kostopoulos and Matt Stajan all lit the lamp for the Flames, who have lost four of five. Kiprusoff turned aside 41 shots in the loss.
