The Philadelphia Flyers and their suddenly resurgent offense meet the Ottawa Senators early Saturday afternoon. (Game Time: 1 p.m., TV Schedule: NHLN-US, CBC, RDS2, CSN-PH)
Philadelphia had been riding the superior goaltending of Ilya Bryzgalov, but in the first game Bryzgalov missed with a chipped fracture in his foot, the Flyers used an offensive explosion to blast the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-1. After failing to score more than three times in any of their previous eight games, the Flyers are now averaging 4.67 goals in their past three outings.
Ottawa is riding back-to-back wins, including a 6-4 takedown of the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night. The Senators used two third-period goals from Daniel Alfredsson within 24 seconds of each other for the crucial victory as they try to secure a playoff berth.
