2012 NHL Playoffs, Flyers Vs. Penguins: Danny Briere, Nicklas Grossmann Will Play For Philadelphia In Game 1

The Philadelphia Flyers got some good news ahead of their first round 2012 NHL Playoff matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins: Danny Briere and Nicklas Grossmann will be in the lineup for the Flyers (via SB Nation.com).

Briere was put on the injury list for a week following a hit from Pittsburgh's Joe Vitale on April 1. Vitale's hit after the game was out of reach started a brawl between the whole lines of players on the ice at the time. Flyers coach Peter Laviolette was also involved in a shouting match with the Penguins' bench that brought him a fine from the league. Grossmann left the same game as Briere with a knee injury on a hit from Vitale.

Briere was fourth on the Flyers in points (49) during the regular season. Grossmann has appeared in 22 games and has six assists on the blue line for the Flyers after coming over from the Stars.
