The Philadelphia Flyers took care of business on Sunday afternoon, dispatching their interstate rival Pittsburgh Penguins in Game Six 5-1. Claude Giroux set the tone early with a huge hit on Sidney Crosby and followed it up with a goal 32 seconds into the affair.
Now, the Flyers will wait and watch the rest of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal match-ups take shape as the other three series are still very much up for grabs.
The scenarios could play out as follows:
If the top seeds all win (Rangers, Bruins, Panthers) Philadelphia plays New York.
If the lower seeds all win (Devils, Capitals, Senators) Philadelphia plays Ottawa.
If the Panthers, Capitals and Senators win, Philadelphia plays Washington.
If the Rangers, Bruins and Devils win, Philadelphia plays Boston.
If the Bruins, Devils and Senators win, Philadelphia plays New Jersey.
If the Rangers, Panthers and Capitals win, Philadelphia plays Florida.
Confused yet? Welcome to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
