Flyers Vs. Sabres Preview: Game Time, TV Schedule, And More

The Flyers will host the Sabres on Thursday night, needing a win to keep hope for the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings alive.

With just two games remaining on the regular-season schedule, the Flyers are zeroing in on a first round playoff matchup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. What remains to be seen is if they can leapfrog their cross-state rival for home ice advantage, a quest that begins on Thursday night when they host the Buffalo Sabres.

A win and a Penguins loss to the Rangers on Thursday would set up a regular-season final showdown between the two Pennsylvania teams with home ice on the line.

Before that, the Flyers need to get past the Sabres, who are desperate for a win as they sit just outside the Eastern Conference playoff standings. They're tied with Washington for the final spot with 88 points, but trail the Capitals by virtue of their one fewer wins this season.

The Flyers have bested the Sabres in each of the two team's three match ups this season, with Claude Giroux racking up 10 points in those contests and Scott Hartnell tallying a goal in each.

With this much on the line, safe to say this one will prove intense.

Game Time: 7:00 p.m. EST
