Flyers Offseason News 2012: Jaromir Jagr Expected To Test Free Agency

The Philadelphia Flyers were unexpectedly thrashed by the New Jersey Devils in the second round of the 2012 NHL Playoffs, bringing an earlier than expected offseason.

The Flyers cleared out their lockers on Thursday, and several news updates came from the experience.

Some of the major ones, per the Philadelphia Inquirer:

  • Despite being given several chances to pledge himself to the Flyers for next season, Jaromir Jagr would not. Expect Jagr to test free agency.
  • Chris Pronger, who missed all but 13 games this season, is still suffering from concussion symptoms. General manager Paul Holmgren called himself a "glass half-full guy," but said he expects Pronger to return to the ice next season.
  • Holmgren expects the Flyers to re-sign Matt Carle to a below-market level price.
