The Philadelphia Flyers have been chosen by the NHL to host the 2014 NHL Entry Draft at Wells Fargo Center (via NHL).

This year's draft is being held in Pittsburgh for the second time (1997, 2012). New Jersey was selected as the host for the 2013 NHL Draft. The Flyers and New Jersey Devils have never hosted the NHL Draft before. The draft has also not previously been held in the New York metropolitan area.

Montreal hosted the draft from 1963-1985 before the league opened the draft up to other cities. Montreal has hosted on four other occasions but the draft has been held mostly in U.S. cities since 1987. Fan attendance and media coverage has grown throughout the years. In addition to team executives, coaches and scouts, the NHL expects to have 10,000 fans and more than 500 media members at the Prudential Center in 2013 and Wells Fargo Center in 2014.
