Bobby Ryan would like to play for the Philadelphia Flyers, according to a report from The 700 Level. The winger is a native of New Jersey and spoke to the appeal of playing for a team he grew up rooting for:
"I heard Anaheim was a little overwhelmed with offers and they only took four seriously, but none of the teams were mentioned to me other than Philly," Ryan said. "Everybody wants to play in your hometown, but it would be tough because a lot of expectations come when you're put into a situation like that. For me, if I'm moved, Philadelphia would be a very ideal and comfortable place for me."
Ryan had previously been mentioned in deals reported here at SB Nation Philly as part of packages involving center James Van Riemsdyk. The Flyers have already made some deals and with the draft ongoing there are likely to be more opportunities.
